Our history

We are a Brazilian business consulting group with 35 years of experience focusing on leadership, management and strategy. The history of the Amana-Key Group dates back to 1973 when Oscar Motomura founded Key, a business consulting firm specialized in strategic planning and turnaround activities.

In 1980, when Deise Fukamati joined Key, a second company is created – Amana – marking the beginning of a new phase characterized by the training of executives on state-of-the-art management, strategy and leadership know-how. In 1985, the company starts exploring major international events, which laid the foundation for a growing network of partners and specialists worldwide.  In 1987, now named Amana-Key, the Group expands through greater focus on educational activities and leader development courses.

The year 1992 sees the launch of the Amana-Key Advanced Management Program (APG), when the Group begins to invest in long-term programs designed to broaden the vision of leaders towards an increasingly inclusive and conscious management (The Executive as Statesman and Leader of Leaders).  In 1995, a short version of the APG Program is created – the ACS, which is implemented mainly in the in-house format for large organizations.

In 1999, Amana-Key launches Advances, tailor-made immersion retreats for top executives of client companies, where innovate roadmaps lead organizations to reinvent themselves towards the future or foster radical innovations to solve "impossible equations" (challenges that the company cannot solve by traditional means). The Advances retreats mark Amana-Key’s breakthrough evolution in consulting services for senior management.

In 2004, the APG Middle Program is created for managers reporting to senior executives who attended the APG Program to ensure thorough alignment across the organization.

In late 2006, the Group kick-starts the LAB21 Emerging Futures Program, affording large customers full access to the Amana-Key Research and Development Center.

In 2010, the Post-APG Program is created designed for executives who attended the GPA. That same year, “Innovation Journeys” project is launched representing the second evolution stage of the LAB21 Program.

Over the decades, tens of thousands of leaders in Brazil and abroad have attended Amana-Key’s business development programs and consulting projects. The insights offered by these programs have prompted leaders all over the world to introduce significant changes in their organizations and within the broader context in which they operate.
